A Scottish food wholesaler linking smaller producers with major retailers has entered compulsory liquidation after attempts to refinance debts exceeding £5 million failed. Enterprise Foods Ltd, recently trading as Localist – The Food Merchant, had supplied outlets including Morrisons, Co-op and Waitrose.
The collapse has eliminated 71 jobs, disrupted a route to market used by independent food businesses and left unsecured creditors facing the possibility of recovering only a small share of what they are owed.
