Acid Reflux Medication Users Warned Over Huge Mistake When Taking It

Millions of people use acid reflux medicines to manage heartburn, indigestion and gastro-oesophageal reflux symptoms, but a common timing mistake can make some treatments work less effectively. The warning mainly concerns proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs, a group that includes omeprazole, lansoprazole and esomeprazole.

The key issue is not that these medicines are unsafe when used correctly. It is that many people take them at random times, after symptoms have already started, or without matching the dose to meals, even though some guidance says timing can strongly affect acid control.
