Debadging a car can look like a tiny cosmetic change: remove the manufacturer badge, model name, trim badge, or engine-size lettering, and the car instantly looks cleaner. In most cases, that is exactly what it is — a visual modification, not a criminal act.
In the UK, there is no general rule that says you must keep manufacturer badges on your car. The bigger issues are different: your number plates must remain legal and readable, your vehicle identification must not be tampered with, and your insurer may need to know about any modification from factory specification.
