Respect is not only shown through grand gestures or formal manners. More often, it appears in ordinary conversations, in the small phrases people choose when they are annoyed, impatient, or trying to make a point. That is why language reveals character so clearly. A person may claim to be polite, fair, or well-intentioned, but the way they speak under pressure often tells a more honest story.

Certain expressions do more than communicate frustration. They reduce, dismiss, belittle, or undermine the other person’s dignity. Some people use them casually, without thinking much about their impact, while others rely on them to establish control.
