Two people survived a dramatic emergency landing in Cardigan Bay after their light aircraft developed mechanical difficulties during a journey from Ireland. Rescuers found them wearing lifejackets on the exposed aircraft, extremely cold but conscious and responsive.

The incident triggered a coordinated response involving three RNLI lifeboat stations and an HM Coastguard helicopter. Both occupants were taken to hospital, while questions surrounding the mechanical failure and the aircraft’s recovery remain unanswered.
