One of Britain’s most prolific fare evaders has been ordered to begin repaying a combined court debt of £34,486 after admitting that he had paid nothing towards it. Charles Brohiri was warned that continued failure to pay could result in imprisonment.
The 29-year-old had already avoided immediate custody in February despite more than 100 convictions involving Govia Thameslink Railway journeys. His latest court appearance focused not on new sentencing, but on whether he could begin meeting the financial orders imposed against him.
