Something Strange Is Happening Between Day and Night on an Alien Planet

James Webb has uncovered a striking atmospheric imbalance on WASP-121 b, an ultra-hot gas giant roughly 880 light-years from Earth. Its two permanent twilight regions appear to have different temperatures, chemical signals and possibly different clouds.

The discovery is not evidence of life or an unknown object hiding on the planet. Instead, it shows that powerful winds and extreme heat are producing two very different boundaries between eternal daylight and endless night.
