Extreme Thunderstorm Activity Possible in Part of UK as Warning Issued

Northern Ireland is facing a sharp change from exceptional heat to potentially disruptive storms, with the Met Office placing the entire region under a yellow thunderstorm warning. The alert follows several unusually hot days across the island of Ireland.

The most severe outcome is not expected everywhere. Thunderstorms are difficult to pinpoint, but any cell that develops could produce intense rain, frequent lightning, hail and sudden gusts within a small area.
