NHS health leaders are urging men to pay attention to four changes that can be associated with prostate cancer, particularly when they are new, worsening or unusual. The warning comes amid concern that embarrassment, fear or the belief that symptoms are simply part of ageing can delay medical advice.
The four warning areas involve urination, erections, unexplained bleeding and a combination of persistent pain with weight loss. They do not automatically indicate cancer, but NHS guidance says they should be discussed with a GP rather than ignored or self-diagnosed.
